City University London celebrates the launch of its new interdisciplinary Centre for Law, Justice and Journalism by inviting The Hon. Mr Justice Eady to deliver its inaugural lecture.
Mr Justice Eady is a High Court judge in England and Wales, known for having judged many high-profile libel cases.
He is described by the Telegraph as "once a leading courtroom defender of red-top journalism", but criticised by Stephen Glover in the Independent for interpreting "the European Convention on Human Rights in a restrictive way".
The Guardian quoted him from a recent lecture: "The media have nowhere to vent their frustrations other than through personal abuse of the particular judge who happens to have made the decision".
Join us for a fascinating lecture on a topical theme that spans all areas of the new Centre.
