Since the signing of The Treaty of Amsterdam formally establishing the creation of the European Community, European law has influenced the national laws of each and every member state.

Irrespective of the practitioner or specialist's area of legal knowledge, EU law will impact upon it in some way. EU Law is taught as a 'pervasive' knowledge area on the BPTC and LPC at The City Law School
